FIRE OF ANATOLIA

14th Aspendos International Opera & Ballet Festival organized by the General Directorship of Opera and Ballet with the contributions of the Fire of Anatolia is meeting with art-lovers at the Aspendos Antique Theater on the dates of June 7 – July 16, 20**.

Our festival which had been described, by the Newspaper “The Independent” published in UK, as one of the best 10 festivals in previous years has proven its quality by being described as one of the best 10 festivals again in 2005 by the magazine called “Festspiele” published in Germany, which has focused on all the festivals around the world.

The true honor of country, compositor and pianist Fazil Say, will meet with art-lovers on June 22, accompanied by the State Opera and Ballet Orchestra of Antalya conducted by Gürer Aykal.

In this concert, Beethoven’s Egmont Overture and Choral Fantasy, and Fazil Say’s Piano Concerto Nr: 3 – Anatolia’s Silence & Ballads (Nazim Kumru) will be played. This work of Beethoven written for piano, chorus, and orchestra is considered as an important example showing his tendency towards continuous approach of proving and mentioning his aptitude from improvisation towards practice, and interpreted as an escape from traditions at the same time.

Fazil Say will make art-lovers coming to the Aspendos Antique Theater live unforgettable night.
