 Didim is shaped as a peninsula surrounding Mugla on the east coast with huge inlet of Akbuk town, Aegean Sea on the west and east coast, Lake Bafa and the Menderes River on the northern coast. Altinkum is 106 km to Aydin , 53 km to Söke , 73 km to Kusadasi, 110 km to Bodrum.
 Arriving into the resort of Altinkum you will see straight away where it gets its name from. Altinkum means golden sands and has several gloriously sandy beaches which gently shelve in the warm Aegean Sea.
 About 15 years ago, the people from large cities around Turkey such as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir first came to Altinkum ("altin: gold" + "kum:sand") and started to build their own summer houses, holiday homes.  With its beaches which gently shelve into the inviting turquoise blue Aegean, you will soon see how the resort got its name. Excellent Beach life in Altinkum means good water sports or Pedalos for those who prefer the pace of life a bit slower. Sun beds and umbrellas are available for rent and once settled there will be no need for you to move until sunset.
 Located about 70km form Bodrum airport this up and coming resort has everything to offer the holiday maker or resident whilst maintaining its definite Turkish feel.
 Along main beach the promenade slopes around, lined with various bars, shops and restaurants.   There is a large open air market every Saturday in the town centre which attracts the locals and expats alike! Dining in Altinkum is varied and of a high standard. Restaurants compete with international menus and traditional Turkish food. In the town of Didim, you will find many local restaurants, serving traditional Turkish food at a Turkish price! Although quite a sleepy resort during the day, Altinkum comes alive at night with its various bars and nightclubs.
 The resort has changed dramatically over the past few years. Whilst it still retains its Turkish charm, the resort has expanded and the main road leading you out of the resort will bring you past several large supermarkets, to the town of Didim.

Construction and property development have brought fantastic investment into the area, and the time is now right for you to invest. The climate is favorable to the buyer at the moment as there is a building boom going on. Watch the prices rise and rise over the next year. Although there are no guarantees, property has increased 200 over the past few years. One can assume this will carry on
  
 For years the main industry in Altinkum was of course tourism. While still a big player in the tourist stakes, Altinkum has developed into an area very popular with British looking to buy abroad.
 Just a few minutes away are the ancient temple of Apollo. Right on your doorstep, there is one of the finest examples of ancient Greek architecture. Spend time during the day wandering around its columns, and dine at night in the traditional restaurants which overlook it.
 A few minutes drive away, you have the newly built Aqua Park. Excellent for families, this is a fantastic complex right on your doorstep!
 Local buses run over the resort offering you a very cheap and convenient way to get around.
 Turkey offers you some of the most incredible and dramatic scenery in the world. The country is steeped in history and tours to these ancient sights are highly recommended. Altinkum is only 90 minutes away from the roman city of Ephesus- one of the 7 ancient wonders of the world.
